On Friday 6 September a bridge collapse at Mill Lane, Skinningrove, Saltburn-by-the-Sea caused damage to a medium pressure gas main. Some homes lost gas supplies and our on-site engineers have been in attendance carrying out emergency repairs.

All the properties that we have been able to get access to have now had their gas supplies restored.

The damage caused to the bridge has meant it has been necessary to close Mill Lane.

A spokesperson from Northern Gas Networks, said:

“This incident was caused by local flooding damaging a bridge and a gas main. We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience and we thank our customers for their patience.”

Anyone who smells gas should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately, your call will be answered at any time of day or night and an engineer will be sent out to assess the situation promptly.
