Engineers from Northern Gas Networks are carrying out essential repair work on an ageing metal gas main in Valley Road, Scarborough to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the area.
The work on the 14” 4 metre metal gas main is being carried out from the roundabout at Westbourne Grove to the junction with Royal Avenue and is taking place in several stages to minimise disruption to members of the public.
In order to carry out this work safely and efficiently, it has been necessary to suspend some residential parking along Valley Road and install temporary two-way traffic lights to manage traffic flow.
Mark Coe, Site Manager from Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while we complete this essential work. We know that no one likes roadworks and our engineers are working hard to complete the work as soon as possible to minimise any disruption caused.”
For more information about the works contact Northern Gas Networks’ Customer Care team on 0845 634 0508, option 7. The team is available between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30am and 5pm on Saturday.
