Engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN) are carrying out emergency gas mains repair work on St Michael’s Avenue, New Hartley today (5 April).

No properties are affected and it has not been necessary to close the road to motorists.

James O’Brien, site manager for NGN, said: “We’ve been able to control the leak temporarily and are hopeful of completing the repair work in the next six to eight hours.”
