Engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributer for the North of England, will begin emergency repair work on a gas main at the junction of Nevilles Cross Bank and Lowes Barn Bank, on Saturday 6 April.
It is anticipated that the work will take two weeks to complete.
In order for the work to be carried out as safely and quickly as possible, three-way temporary traffic signals will be in operation.
Andy Coates, Site Manager at Northern Gas Networks said: “The safety of members of the public is our first priority and we would like to thank customers for bearing with us while we carry out this essential repair work. We will complete the work as soon as possible.”
